Threshold has announced the transfer of all Leonard Cheshire Supporting People services to its supported community housing provision in Northern Ireland.

Following substantive engagement with Leonard Cheshire senior management, staff and service users, the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, Choice Housing Association and relevant Health and Social Care Trusts all Leonard Cheshire Supporting People service provision in Northern Ireland will transfer to Threshold as of April 1 2025.

The transfer of services will include seven sites, which will now be operated by Threshold; Cheshire Mews, Lurgan, The Meadows, Craigavon, Cheshire House, Derry/Londonderry, ARBI, Belfast, Taylor Cheshire House, Belfast, The Maples, Belfast and Springfield Court, Belfast.

Announcing the expansion of service provision, Threshold Chief Executive Officer, Fiona McCabe said:

As a local charity with thirty years of experience delivering specialist mental health and disability services in supported community housing and peripatetic provision, Threshold has the expertise and commitment to ensure continuity of high-level care for tenants and meaningful employment for staff at all Leonard Cheshire Supporting People facilities in Northern Ireland as part of an expanded Threshold service provision.

There will be no disruption to service provision for people supported by these services or change to the terms of employment for staff.

The mission of Threshold is to inspire and enable the people we support to live full and independent lives within their communities, regardless of injury or disability and the expanded Threshold team will work with dedication to deliver this vital care and support to people across Northern Ireland.
